We are excited to share the details of our presentations at the 3rd Namibia Oil and Gas Conference in Windhoek! Our colleagues will be providing key insights on critical topics for the industry’s future.

The Presentations

Anthony (Tony) Paul: “Maximising the Value of Natural Gas in the Orange Basin”
  • Tony will draw on lessons from Trinidad and Tobago to discuss how a developing country can increase its national value from natural gas.
  • His presentation will cover a variety of measures, including fiscal and monetary policies like taxation and royalty policies, as well as non-fiscal measures.
  • He will also discuss the importance of local participation through investment, local content, and local value addition.
  • A key focus will be on the recommendations for Namibia, which include having a clear and regularly reviewed gas master plan that integrates with regional and national development plans.

John G. Aronson: “Advancing ESG through an Interdisciplinary Approach”

  • John, our ESG Lead Specialist, will discuss the modern ESG approach as a foundation for project development and acceptance.
  • He will emphasize the importance of an interdisciplinary approach, which considers physical, chemical, biological, social, regulatory, and engineering components.
  • The presentation will highlight the challenges of onshore and offshore oil and gas projects, noting that offshore operations can be more complicated due to issues like waste management and logistics.
  • John will also address emerging ESG challenges related to environmental sustainability, social impact, and governance excellence.
