With more than 40 years’ industry and management consulting experience, specialising in complex environmental management programmes, including Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental and Social Management and Monitoring Plans (ESMMP), John is highly skilled in establishing modern ESG programmes within the oil and gas industry and beyond.  

John  graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a BA in Biological Sciences, before achieving a Masters in Limnology/Civil Engineering at University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He also has a postgraduate qualification from Colorado State University and is a Certified Environmental Professional  of the Academy of Board-Certified Environmental Professionals.  He is limnologist and Certified Lake Manager with broad water resource experience from Arctic to Amazon.

Having worked in more than 50 countries to date, John has extensive national and international experience auditing, assessing, monitoring and managing systems, providing regulatory support and on natural resource development programmes.   He has served as a Principal Advisor with several of the world’s largest oil and gas projects, including AIOC Early Oil Azerbaijan and Georgia; Sakhalin II, Integrated Service Provider;  TengizChevroil, Strategic EIS, Kazakhstan; et al.
